Thanh Nguyen

Thanh Nguyen is a Managing Director on our In-House Counsel Recruiting team. Her focus is on helping organizations find top lawyers and compliance professionals across all industries. As a business executive, strategic legal counsel and effective leader with strong operational background, Thanh has a track record for delivering results in high stakes matters for global organizations and is deeply familiar with their legal and compliance needs.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Thanh was an executive and legal director at PepsiCo, Inc., where she developed the company’s Global Anticorruption Third Party Due Diligence program and conducted internal investigations involving potential violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Before going in-house, Thanh was a litigation associate at Clifford Chance US LLP in Washington, D.C., and later at Latham & Watkins in Chicago, where she represented multinational clients in bet-the-company litigation and in FCPA internal investigations. In her pre-law career, Thanh was a business manager overseeing teams and operations in sales, shipping and import/export compliance at a Chicago-based privately held company.

Thanh has contributed significantly to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in all of her roles, including in-house. At PepsiCo, Thanh served as the chair of PepsiCo’s Larry D. Thompson Legacy of Leadership Fellowship, a legal internship program dedicated to promoting diversity in the legal profession. At Clifford Chance and Latham & Watkins, Thanh successfully drove DEI initiatives in recruiting and retention of diverse legal talent.

Thanh enjoys learning new languages, the arts and helping others through philanthropy, mentorship and counseling. She is fluent in Vietnamese and proficient in Mandarin Chinese. Thanh recently completed a year-long round-the-world travel sabbatical with her husband and son, living in 12 different countries throughout Asia, Europe and South America.
