Abid Virani

Abid Virani has a diverse work experience in various fields. Abid worked as the COO at Fable, an accessibility platform for companies. In 2015, they became self-employed and worked as a freelance filmmaker, working with clients such as the Juno Awards and Telus. Abid also worked at Raindrop Hearing Clinic, where they were involved in business development and design, including rebranding the company. Abid co-founded Turn and Punch Productions, a film production company, where they worked as a co-owner and film director. As a freelance web consultant, they worked with organizations on their websites and branding. Abid also worked as a video content creator at Unity Charity, capturing various projects and stories. Abid was a Studio [Y] Fellow at MaRS Discovery District, where they worked on a project with Solution's Lab. Abid co-founded the charity Hope In The Fight, focusing on global youth engagement with HIV and AIDS. Abid Virani obtained a Bachelor's Degree in International Development from the University of Guelph in the period from 2008 to 2012. Abid then pursued further education at McGill University and completed two semesters of B.A. in International Development from 2009 to 2010. Later, they enrolled at OCAD University and earned a Master's Degree in Inclusive Design, which they completed between 2015 and 2017. Prior to their university studies, Abid attended Centennial C.V.I. from 2004 to 2008, although the degree name and field of study for this institution are not available.
