Miguel Montanez Jr. has a diverse work experience. Miguel started their career in 2003 as a Summer Program Instructor (Art Ed Intern) at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. In 2005, they moved to KM Printing, LLC as a Graphic Designer (Print & Prepress). In 2007, they joined OmniTI as a Web Designer, and was later promoted to Art Director -- Web and Creative Design Lead. In 2010, they worked as a UX Design Lead at Circonus. In 2012, they became the Creative Strategist (Owner) at DigitalMig Studios, LLC and also worked at Public Broadcasting Service as a Sr. Designer | PBS KIDS Digital, Director of Creative Technology | PBS KIDS Digital, and Director of Connected Play. In 2018, they co-founded Makefully and served as the Chief Creative Technologist.

Miguel Montanez Jr. attended Towson University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a BSA in Art with a focus in Motion Graphics & Digital Illustration.
