Elaine Astrand is an accomplished Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at Mälardalen University since April 2022, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the same institution from January 2015 to July 2019. Elaine managed a PhD project at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Lyon from October 2010 to December 2014, focusing on neural activity related to cognitive attention and visual perception. Teaching experience includes a role at Catholic University of Lyon, where course preparation and interactive classes were part of the responsibilities for third-year psychology students. Academic credentials include a PhD in Neuroscience from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1/CNRS and a Master of Science in Molecular Biotechnology Engineering from Uppsala University, complemented by various international educational experiences in biosciences and research internships.
