Azian Ismail

Azian Ismail is a seasoned professional in the field of auditing and Islamic finance, currently serving as Chief Audit Executive and Senior Director of the Shariah & Islamic Banking Group Audit at Maybank since March 2016. Azian Ismail is also a PhD candidate at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) since July 2021. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Assistant Vice President and Head of Shariah Audit & Process Review Section at Bank Muamalat from July 2010 to February 2016, as well as a Compliance Manager at RHB Bank from July 2009 to June 2010. Azian Ismail's career at Maybank began in January 2002, focusing on Investment Banking & Asset Management Audit until June 2009. Educational qualifications include a Chartered in Islamic Finance Professional degree from INCEIF (2007-2012), a Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (1998-2000), and a Diploma in Investment Analysis from the same institution (1995-1998).
