Denis Murphy

Denis Murphy is currently the Chief Executive Officer at OLEATECH LTD since January 2016 and a Professor of Biotechnology at the University of South Wales from October 2001, where Denis also leads the Genomics & Computational Biology Research Group. Denis has extensive experience in lipid metabolism, plant molecular genetics, agricultural biotechnology, and global food security. Additionally, Denis serves as a member of the Science Council for the Malaysian Oil Science and Technology Association since May 2017 and as Chairman of the Biology Programme Advisory Committee for the Malaysian Palm Oil Board since November 2001. Previous roles include Head of Brassica & Oilseeds Research Department at the John Innes Centre and various academic positions focused on molecular biology and biochemistry at respected institutions. Denis holds a BA Hons in Biology/Biochemistry and a DPhil in Lipid Biochemistry from the University of York.
