Donna L. Wilson is the CEO and Managing Partner of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. Donna has over 25 years of experience as a litigator, with a focus on class action defense, consumer financial services, and privacy/data security.
Wilson began their legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable David R. Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Donna then served as a law clerk for the Honorable Stanley S. Brotman of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
In 2001, Wilson joined Gilbert & Randolph LLP as a partner. Donna was responsible for developing the firm's class action and privacy litigation practices, with a focus on California state practice.
In 2007, Wilson left Gilbert & Randolph to join Kelley Drye & Warren LLP as a partner. At Kelley Drye, they served as Co-Chair of the Consumer Financial Services Group and Member of the Privacy and Data Security Group. Donna was responsible for developing the firm's class action and privacy litigation practices, with a focus on California state practice.
In 2010, Wilson left Kelley Drye to join BuckleySandler LLP as a partner. At BuckleySandler, they led the Firm's West Coast litigation practice, with a focus on class action defense, and consumer financial services and privacy/data security counseling and litigation.
Wilson has been recognized by Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation as a leading class action lawyer. Donna was named a "Woman Leader in Tech Law" by The Recorder in 2018 and 2019, and was selected as one of The American Lawyer's "Top 50 Female Litigators" in 2019.
Donna L. Wilson has a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA in International Affairs/Soviet and Eastern European Studies from The George Washington University.
