Nick Speakman has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Supermarket Assistant at Waitrose during their A-levels and university holiday periods. Nick gained valuable experience in product sales, customer relations, team culture, personal presentation, and creative thinking.

In 2008, they completed a 2-week work experience placement at Carl Summers Financial Services, where they gained experience in general office work and learned how to deal with the public.

In 2012, Nick founded BBC Sporf, the UK's biggest Twitter parody page, which challenged the status quo of social sports coverage. Nick built the account from a University bedroom and grew it to 50,000 followers by the end of the first tournament.

Following the success of BBC Sporf, Nick founded NS Digital Media Consultancy in 2013. The company capitalized on BBC Sporf's audience and best practices to consult with sporting athletes, talent, and personalities. Nick also delivered paid-for campaign activations with notable sporting clients, such as Puma, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, and ESPN.

In 2015, Nick joined Social Chain as Head of Platforms, managing a collective of over 100 social communities across the network. Nick was responsible for ideating and delivering content strategies across various verticals, including sports, entertainment, food, music, news, and lifestyle.

During their time at Social Chain, Nick took on various roles, including Sports Content Director and Head of Brand. In these roles, they transformed BBC Sporf into a commercially-viable sports entity and played a significant role in Social Chain's media network of 38 million sports fans cross-platform.

In 2020, Nick joined Manchester United as the Global Head of Social Media, where they continue to leverage their expertise in managing digital sports publishing brands and growing social media followers.

Their field of study at Loughborough University was focused on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.
