Skylar Penland

Skylar Penland is an emerging professional in the entertainment industry with a strong background in television development and film programming. Currently serving as the Assistant to the Head of Television at Mandalay Entertainment Group since June 2025, Skylar has previously contributed as a Global Scripted Development & Programming Intern at Sony Pictures Entertainment. Skylar has also held significant leadership roles, including President and Founder of Women in Film Chapman, fostering a supportive community for female filmmakers. Additional experience includes internships with various companies such as Manage-ment, Newport Beach Film Festival, and Threshold Entertainment, where Skylar gained expertise in script development, project pitching, and festival programming. Skylar is pursuing dual Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts and Chapman University.
