Alfred Lam, PhD has a diverse work experience in various industries. Alfred first started working at Chrysalix Venture Capital in 2012, where they held multiple roles including Analyst, Associate, Vice President, and currently Partner. At Chrysalix, they specialize in market-driven industrial innovation and collaborates with large industrial corporations to identify startup solutions for their challenges. In 2017, Alfred co-founded Mangrove Lithium and served as a Board Director, contributing to the development of a breakthrough refining platform for battery-grade lithium production. In 2019, they became a Board Member (Director) at Liminal Insights Inc., which focuses on advanced battery metrology. In 2020, Alfred joined Sortera Alloys, Inc. as a Board Member (Director) and contributed to the development of an intelligent sorting system for mixed metal scrap upcycling. Alfred also serves as a Board Member (Observer) at Applied Impact Robotics, General Fusion, and Axine Water Technologies, where they provide valuable insights and support. Alfred became a Board Member (Director) at Helmee Imaging Ltd in 2022, contributing to the development of a quality intelligence platform for inspection in the automotive and consumer electronics sectors. Additionally, they have been an Angel Investor at Enterra Feed Corporation since 2013, and a Board Member (Observer) at Primus Power from 2016 to 2021. Alfred's expertise spans across multiple industries, including venture capital, lithium refining, battery metrology, metal scrap sorting, robotics, imaging, fusion, water technologies, and energy storage.

Alfred Lam, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, from 1998 to 2003. Later, from 2005 to 2009, they pursued their PhD in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Electrochemistry & Fuel Cells, under the guidance of the Wilkinson Lab at The University of British Columbia.
