Andrew Boardman

Creative Director at Mangrove Web Development

Andrew Boardman has over 25 years of experience in the design industry. From 1996 to 2000, they worked as a Research Associate at The Rockefeller Foundation, where they helped found and manage an innovative leadership development program. In 2000, they became the Director of Research at Oven Digital, providing internal and external marketing, public relations, and business research for the company. From 2002 to 2017, they were the Principal and Owner of Manoverboard Inc., a purpose-driven design studio that provides digital platforms, communications strategies, and visual identities to socially responsible businesses, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. During this time, they were also the President, Vice President, and Membership Chair of the Graphic Designers of Canada, Manitoba Chapter. In 2017, they began teaching design, history, visual research methods, and design theory at Red River College. In 2019, they began teaching design, history, visual research methods, and design theory at the University of Manitoba. In 2023, they became the Creative Director at Mangrove Web Development, a Certified B Corp.

Andrew Boardman has a rich educational background. Andrew earned a BA, magna cum laude, in Honors Art and Honors English from Brown University from 1985 to 1990. Andrew then earned an MFA in Fine Arts from the University at Albany, SUNY from 1990 to 1992. From 1994 to 1995, they obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Design and Visual Communications, General from the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Jana Matejki w Krakowie. In 1998 and 1999, they earned a Certificate in Media Studies from The New School. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications from HubSpot, an Inbound Certification in February 2015 and a HubSpot Certification in September 2015.
