Mar Fitzgerald

Mar Fitzgerald is an accomplished political and community leader currently serving as the Democratic District Leader for the Manhattan Democratic Party since June 2025 and as a Community Liaison since March 2023, focusing on local processes and engagement. Fitzgerald has held multiple leadership roles within Community Board 2 Manhattan, including Chair of the Cannabis Licensing Committee and Chair of the Equity, Race & Justice Committee, and contributes to empowering marginalized community members through various initiatives. Additional experience includes serving as Election Coordinator for the Board of Elections - City of New York and Co-President of Village Independent Democrats, the oldest reform political club in New York City. Fitzgerald also has a background in the arts and entertainment industry, having operated businesses such as UR Innovative, Inc. and Off The Top Entertainment, Inc. Fitzgerald's educational background includes New York University and The Brearley School.
