William L. Barkow

Over the last 20+ years, Bill Barkow’s career in the securities industry has grown steadily across a wide spectrum within the world of financial services.

After many years of creating, growing and managing traditional brokerage businesses, it was in 2010 when Bill became a pioneer in the creation of what is now commonly referred to as the Secondary Markets. With a private purchase of $10mm worth of Facebook shares from an early ex-employee at a split adjusted price of $4 per share, Bill came to recognize the true potential of this newly discovered asset class. At that point, Bill went on to form numerous LLCs designed to provide accredited investors and qualified purchasers the opportunity to invest in late-stage, pre-IPO companies at significant discounts to their expected ensuing liquidity events via the public markets. Through greater than 25 individually-branded Regulation D offerings, Bill has been instrumental in raising in excess of $500mm into 30+ different companies via 100s of individually sourced and executed Secondary Market purchases. Many of these investments have already enjoyed successful liquidity events for his Limited Partners via additional private transactions within the Secondary Market and multiple IPOs. In addition to Facebook, Bill has been intimately involved in the purchase of shares of Twitter, LinkedIn, Palantir, Spotify, Lyft, DocuSign and Pinterest, among many others. Additionally, Bill has spent time and found success procuring early stage investment opportunities via both the Secondary Market and through his participation in primary rounds of funding for select pre-revenue companies such as Qwiki, Addepar, Rani Therapeutics and Virgin Hyperloop One.

Bill graduated Magna Cum Laude from New Jersey City University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business. Additionally, Bill holds Finra Series 7, 9, 10 and 63 licenses. An avid amateur golfer, Bill is a member of Fiddler’s Elbow CC and has resided in Warren, NJ since 1999 with his wife Gretchen and three children.
