Alex Reis

Alex Reis is a Principal Scientist at Manifold Bio since May 2021, previously holding the position of Senior Scientist. Before this role, Alex conducted PhD research at Penn State University from January 2015 to December 2020, focusing on developing DNA-sequence-function models to engineer complex gene expression and regulation systems in E. coli. Prior experience includes an Engineering & Research Internship at Glycos Biotechnologies, Inc. from July 2012 to August 2014, where sustainable chemical production from renewable feedstocks was the focus. Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Rice University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Synthetic Biology from Penn State University.
