President & Co-Founder at Manifold

Co-founder of Manifold and our Chief Product Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for creating opportunities to collaborate with clients and partners that leverage Manifold's exceptional team of machine learning and data engineers and helping scale the organization. Vivek began his career as a mathematician and physicist. He has since held leadership roles in launching new organizations and products. He is passionate about inventing the future by bringing together great people.

Prior to Manifold, he was founder and CEO at Project Altitude, a digital publishing platform—modeled on UpToDate in medicine—to make tens of billions of dollars of R&D knowledge accessible at the point of application by using expert-in-the-loop machine learning.

Previously, he was on the founding team and Vice President at Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), a platform for businesses, business leaders, and affiliated organizations making the global energy system more secure, clean, and affordable. There he co-led positioning and go-to-market and led the analytics and digital teams. There he led investment of a $70 million fund (post-financial-crisis) to deploy clean energy technology, in the face of a complex stakeholder environment. Within 24 months, there were over 300 live project sites, thousands of additional people employed, innovations in technology and in finance, and a ranking among the 5 leading states in the nation in speed of execution throughout.

Vivek also served for a year as a a technical advisor and speechwriter for Congressman Adam Schiff of California's 28th District in the US House of Representatives, with a focus on defense, nuclear security, and energy.

Vivek's career began in academia. As a Visiting Scientist at the Center for Theoretical Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he used effective field theory to develop simpler models for particle physics phenomena with complex dynamics spanning multiple length scales. He earned his Phd and Master of Science degrees in Mathematics from Harvard University. He also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Vivek also serves on the Board of The Academy School in Berkeley, CA and as Co-Chair of the Tech Track for the MIT Club of Northern California.
