Richard Kress has over 40 years of experience in biomedical engineering, currently serving as a Biomedical Engineering Technician III at Maniilaq Association since August 2008, where responsibilities include performing electrical safety inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of medical equipment across Kotzebue and 11 Eskimo villages. Prior to this role, Richard held positions as a Supervisory Biomedical Engineer at both Nashville VA Hospital and Hines VA Hospital, where duties encompassed ensuring electrical safety and developing maintenance programs. Richard began their career as a Clinical Engineer at Michael Reese Hospital. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and General Science from the University of Northern Iowa.
