Peter Mayer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in power system simulation and analysis, currently serving as a Senior Specialist at Manitoba Hydro International since September 2019. Mayer specializes in the simulation, analysis, and mitigation of stability issues in bulk power systems characterized by low strength and high renewable energy penetration. Previous roles include Senior Technical Consultant at ABB, where feasibility and integration studies for renewable projects were conducted, and Senior Engineer at BC Hydro, leading electrical design for high-voltage transmission projects. Additional experience includes work at Vestas and Manitoba Hydro, focusing on transient simulations, modeling, and planning studies. Peter Mayer holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Manitoba.
