Chris Briley

Chris Briley is the current Chief Technology Officer at Manning & Napier. Chris has held this position since January 2016. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director, Global Applications & Architecture at Ciena from November 2010 to January 2016. In that role, they reported directly to the CIO and was responsible for leading a team of six direct reports and 100 FTEs in application development, maintenance, and architecture.

Briley has also held the positions of Managing Director, Head of Corporate Application Solutions at Legg Mason from February 2016 to March 2019, Director, IT Governance at Legg Mason from October 2004 to October 2010, Manager, PMO and Project Manager at CareFirst BCBS from January 2000 to December 2004, and Manager at Technology Management Inc. from April 1998 to October 2000.

Throughout their career, Briley has focused on driving systems and business process re-engineering, application rationalization, cloud and mobile strategy, improving operational metrics, and establishing a Quality Assurance discipline. Their application portfolio includes Oracle EBS, OBIEE, Hyperion, Informatica, Agile, SharePoint, Box, SalesForce.com, Workday, Financial Force, Chameleon, and custom developed .net applications.

Chris Briley has a Masters in Project Management from Penn State University, a BA in Economics from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Criminal Justice degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Chris is also certified from the Project Management Institute in PMP.

Chris Briley reports to Marc Mayer, Chief Executive Officer. They work with Sarah Turner - General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Paul Battaglia - Chief Financial Officer, and Greg Woodard - Managing Director, Wealth Management.
