Abby Sterling is a seasoned professional in wildlife conservation, currently serving as Director of the Georgia Bight Shorebird Conservation Initiative at Manomet since May 2018. Prior to this position, Abby held various roles at The University of Georgia from March 2012 to April 2018, including Research Coordinator and Graduate Research Assistant. In these roles, Abby organized graduate student meetings, created lab websites, assisted with administrative tasks, and defended a dissertation that is being developed into peer-reviewed manuscripts. Abby's extensive fieldwork includes monitoring shorebird nesting, conducting educational tours, and developing outreach programs. With a PhD in Wildlife from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Forest Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Abby combines a strong educational background with rich hands-on experience in conservation and research.
