Joel Asrael PE CEM LEED AP CSI

Joel Asrael has extensive work experience in the field of sustainability and energy efficiency. Joel is currently working at Mantis Innovation as the Engineering Manager, Sustainability Services. Prior to this role, they worked as a Project Engineer at Mantis Innovation.

Before joining Mantis Innovation, Joel worked at Johns Manville as a Senior Specifier Services Representative, where their responsibilities included collaborating with regional sales teams to achieve revenue targets and position Johns Manville Roofing Systems in specifications.

Joel also served as the Engineering Team Lead at Ameresco, where they managed the engineering team, supported sales efforts, and sold services to major clients. At Energy Systems Group, they worked as a Performance Engineer and played a key role in opening the Colorado market, meeting with prospects, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and selling $2 million in annual business.

Prior to these roles, Joel held positions at the Governor's Energy Office, where they managed commercial building programs and created initiatives to meet office goals, and at NORESCO, where they coordinated audit, engineering, and proposal efforts for projects. Joel also worked at Johnson Controls as a Project Development Engineer, providing technical expertise and overseeing energy performance contracts, and at Custom Energy as an Energy Engineer, evaluating energy and water use and developing utility cost-saving projects.

Joel Asrael holds certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), and Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). Joel'sexperience includes managing teams, sales, program management, and technical analysis.

Joel Asrael has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Natural Sciences from Hofstra University, which they obtained from 1987 to 1991. Joel furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics at ASU from 1994 to 1997.

In terms of certifications, Joel Asrael obtained the LEED Professional Accredited certification from USGBC Colorado in January 2003. Joel became a Professional Engineer through the State of Colorado in December 2013. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Energy Manager certification from the Association of Energy Engineers in January 2001.
