Principle Software Engineer at Mantis Innovation

Jonathan Hinson has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and business analysis. Jonathan started their career as a Business Analyst at Enbridge in 2008. In the same year, they also co-founded Big Techonions and developed a web application called Sheepdog, which was later acquired by Flowtown.

From 2008 to 2011, Jonathan worked as a Software Engineer at Rental Markets, Inc. During this time, they redeveloped legacy applications using different technologies and implemented algorithms for optimizing click-thru and conversion rates.

In 2012, Jonathan joined Mantis Innovation as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for designing, developing, and deploying features across multiple applications. Within six months, they implemented an automated bidding system and worked on pricing energy contracts in new deregulated markets. Jonathan progressively moved up the ranks and became a Senior Software Engineer, where they made critical architecture design decisions, mentored and onboarded new hires, and automated manual processes.

In 2019, Jonathan took on the role of Principle Software Engineer at Mantis Innovation. As an interim EM, they led multiple teams to implement the roadmap, wrote job descriptions, and streamlined new-hire onboarding. Jonathan also developed and advocated for a multi-million-dollar budget.

Throughout their career, Jonathan has demonstrated expertise in software development, team leadership, and project management.

Jonathan Hinson attended Abilene Christian University from 2004 to 2008. Jonathan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science during this period.
