Charlotte Swain is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience in both higher education and management. Currently serving as Deputy Director - Delivery at the Manufacturing Technology Centre since January 2021, Charlotte has previously held significant roles at Heart of Worcestershire College, including CRQ Director, Vice Principal, and Assistant Principal from July 2017 to January 2021. Additionally, Charlotte was Faculty Director at North East Worcestershire College from January 2010 to July 2014 and Conference Manager at The Belfry Hotel & Resort from June 2000 to July 2002. Charlotte's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration/Management from Birmingham City University and two master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Management from Hagley RC High School and the University of Worcester.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. They focus on delivering bespoke manufacturing system solutions for their customers.They operate some of the most advanced manufacturingequipment in the world, and employ a team of highly skilled engineers, many of whom are leading experts in their field. This creates a high quality environment for the development and demonstration of new processes and technologies on an industrial scale.The MTC’s areas of expertise are directly relevant to both large and small companies, and are applicable across a wide range of industry sectors. The MTC’s members include global manufacturing companies from multiple sectors. Research partners include the University of Birmingham, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University and TWI Ltd.The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
