Ken Young

Ken Young is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in manufacturing technology, currently serving as Technology Director at Manufacturing Technology Centre Limited since January 2011. In this role, Ken manages various research projects, including Intelligent Automation and High Integrity Fabrication. Prior to this, Ken held a similar position at MTC from 2011 to 2015 and served as a Professor at the University of Warwick from February 1991 to December 2010, focusing on automotive joining technologies and mobile robotics. Early in their career, Ken developed software for CAD/CAM packages at Delcam and created robotic programming software at BYG Systems, working with notable companies like JCB and Rolls Royce. Ken holds a BSc-PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, obtained between 1980 and 1986.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions.
