Roberto Gil CEng MWeldI is a Senior Research Engineer at The Manufacturing Technology Centre (The MTC) since October 2014, specializing in heat treatment, laser processing, and friction welding. Previous experience includes roles as a Research Engineer focused on friction welding technologies and metallic powder production, and Head of the Technology & Design Department at the University of Los Andes Venezuela, where responsibilities included academic and budget coordination for a team of 20 personnel. Roberto has also served as a Fellow with the Roberto Rocca Education Program and held positions as a Process Engineer and Sales Representative. Academic credentials include a PhD in Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a Mechanical Engineering degree from ULA Venezuela.
