Ross Trepleton is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in manufacturing technology. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer for Component Manufacturing Technology at The Manufacturing Technology Centre Limited since June 2011, Ross has also held the position of Senior Research Engineer specializing in Net Shape and Additive Manufacturing. Prior to this, Ross worked as a Development Engineer at Bodycote from June 2008 to June 2011. Ross holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Birmingham, earned between 1999 and 2008, focusing on HIP diffusion bonding and Powder Hot Isostatic Pressing.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. They focus on delivering bespoke manufacturing system solutions for their customers.They operate some of the most advanced manufacturingequipment in the world, and employ a team of highly skilled engineers, many of whom are leading experts in their field. This creates a high quality environment for the development and demonstration of new processes and technologies on an industrial scale.The MTC’s areas of expertise are directly relevant to both large and small companies, and are applicable across a wide range of industry sectors. The MTC’s members include global manufacturing companies from multiple sectors. Research partners include the University of Birmingham, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University and TWI Ltd.The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
