Shailen Tailor is a Senior Digital Transformation Advisor at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, a position held since August 2021, focused on guiding businesses in their digital transformation efforts and selecting appropriate tools for successful implementation. Previously, Shailen served as a Digital Transformation Advisor, contributing to elevating UK Manufacturing on a global stage. Prior experience includes a tenure at Jaguar Land Rover from September 2012 to August 2021, where Shailen progressed from a Standards and Controls Project Engineer to a Degree Apprentice, completing a six-year degree apprenticeship and achieving a First Class BEng Degree in Applied Engineering from Warwick University. Earlier experience includes an electrical internship at Chromalock Ltd. Shailen's educational background includes a foundation degree in Engineering from Warwickshire College and secondary education at Bishop Ullathorne RC School.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies in an agile, low risk environment, in partnership with industry, academia and other institutions. They focus on delivering bespoke manufacturing system solutions for their customers.They operate some of the most advanced manufacturingequipment in the world, and employ a team of highly skilled engineers, many of whom are leading experts in their field. This creates a high quality environment for the development and demonstration of new processes and technologies on an industrial scale.The MTC’s areas of expertise are directly relevant to both large and small companies, and are applicable across a wide range of industry sectors. The MTC’s members include global manufacturing companies from multiple sectors. Research partners include the University of Birmingham, University of Nottingham, Loughborough University and TWI Ltd.The MTC is part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, supported by Innovate UK.
