Jason Litherland serves as the Head of Department for Guidance at Papatoetoe High School since January 2020, overseeing the mental and emotional wellbeing of 1,700 high school students. In addition to this role, Jason has been the Chief Executive Officer of a charitable counselling agency since October 2019, providing subsidised counselling for university students. Concurrently, Jason is active as a lecturer in the Bachelor of Applied Counselling program at the Manukau Institute of Technology and operates a private practice as a mental health counsellor and consultant. Past experience includes counselling roles at Youthline and Waiuku College, as well as training electoral staff for the New Zealand Electoral Commission. Jason's educational background includes multiple degrees in psychology and counselling from prominent institutions such as Monash University and the University of Auckland.
