Yanpeng Lin

Yanpeng Lin is an accomplished search engineer with extensive experience in search quality improvement, ranking optimization, and feature engineering. Currently employed at Mapbox since August 2021, Yanpeng previously worked at Mercari, Inc. from August 2017 to July 2021, leading projects focused on search metrics construction and query understanding. Prior to that, Yanpeng served as a senior machine learning engineer at MonotaRO Co., Ltd., where responsibilities included building data lakes and machine learning pipelines. Earlier career experience includes a software engineer role at Rakuten, where involvement in global ranking platform development occurred, and serving as a teaching assistant at Kobe University, focusing on language engineering and artificial intelligence. Yanpeng is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Tsukuba, specializing in information retrieval and ranking optimization, and holds a Master of Science in Information Systems from Kobe University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Shanxi Agricultural University.
