John Looney

John Looney currently serves as the Head of Data Strategy, Governance and Operations at MAPFRE, a leading insurer in Massachusetts and part of a global group operating in over 100 countries. In addition, John is a Career Consultant at the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, providing mentoring and guidance to various graduate and undergraduate business students. Prior experience includes over two decades at State Street, where John held several senior leadership roles, including Deputy Chief Data Officer and Head of Enterprise Data Governance and Management. John's professional journey began at eSN, Inc. as a Senior Product Manager, following multiple roles in investment services at State Street earlier in his career. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Tufts University and an MBA from the Questrom School of Business, along with specialized certifications in leadership from MIT and Harvard.
