Orang Vahid Araghi has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Orang started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Alton Tool and Die Factory in Iran in 1994. Orang then joined Bonyan Locomotive Company in Iran as a Design Engineer in 1998.
In 1999, Araghi moved to Supplying Automotive Parts Co. (SAPCO) where they worked as a CAE Team Leader in the R&D Department. Orang led a team and managed various projects related to automotive parts. Orang successfully solved noise issues in rear dampers of a vehicle model and improved the design of an engine mass balancer based on finite element analysis.
In 2005, Araghi worked as a Consultant at Cooper-Standard Automotive, where they developed software to optimize vehicle body mounts. This program saved costs by eliminating the trial-error approach to mount selection.
In 2007, they continued their consulting work at Cooper-Standard Automotive, focusing on projects related to the automotive industry.
Araghi then joined the University of Waterloo in 2010, where they served as a Research Manager and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Green Intelligent Transportation Systems (Green ITS) project. Orang conducted research in vehicle modeling, stability, and control, as well as in the development of key technologies for electric vehicles.
In 2011, Araghi joined Maplesoft as a Senior Modeling Engineer. Orang participated in the development of MapleSim simulation software and delivered modeling solutions to customers. Orang later became the Application Engineering Manager and currently holds the position of Director of Application Engineering, where they play a key role in developing new business and managing the Application Engineering group's activities.
Orang Vahid Araghi has a strong educational background in Mechanical Engineering. In 1991, they started their academic journey at Sharif University of Technology, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1994. Building upon their undergraduate studies, from 1995 to 1997, they pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic.
With a desire for further academic and research excellence, Orang Vahid Araghi then joined the University of Waterloo. From 2003 to 2005, they completed their Master of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at this renowned institution. Continuing their educational endeavors, they went on to pursue their doctoral studies at the University of Waterloo. From 2006 to 2009, they successfully attained their PhD in Mechanical Engineering, further specializing in this field of study.
Throughout their education, Orang Vahid Araghi consistently focused on Mechanical Engineering, emphasizing their dedication to gaining a comprehensive understanding and expertise in this discipline.
