Principal Software Engineer at Mapped

Oleksandr Porunov has been working in the technology industry since 2012. Oleksandr began as an Android Developer in 2012, developing apps for Android using Java. Oleksandr then participated in Programming Olympiads with Su-7B in 2013. In 2017, they co-founded JBlur and served as a Backend Developer, designing the project architecture and developing highly scalable, fault tolerant, no SPOF, optimized distributed parts supporting multiple data centers for most of the functionality needed for social networks. From 2019 to 2020, they were a JanusGraph Committer and TSC Member, developing multiple features and adding optimization for JanusGraph-Elasticsearch integration. Currently, they are a Principal Software Engineer at Mapped, a US based startup which focuses on IIoT, where they are developing core services, having fun with graphs, and managing the Ukrainian team.

Oleksandr Porunov received their Master's degree in Systems Programming from the National Aerospace University -'Kharkiv Aviation Institute' in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution in 2015. Oleksandr also holds an Associate's degree in Software Engineering from the Industrial-pedagogical college, which they obtained in 2012.
