The Escola Comunitária Maramar (Maramar Community School) is a nonprofit organization with 13 years of existence, based on Waldorf and other humanized pedagogies to offer quality education to 100 children from 1 to 12 years old in the Northeast of Brazil. Most families we attend have low incomes, and the school is in the poorest areas of the city. We are in an environmental protection area and have natural building classrooms on 24 acres in the middle of an Atlantic Forest. We have a small agroforestry, and environmental protection is one of our values.
