Spyros Karapanos

Spyros Karapanos has extensive experience in the maritime industry, currently serving as a Senior Fleet Manager at Maran Tankers Management Inc. since April 2004, where responsibilities have included tanker conversion and management of new building projects. Previous positions at Maran Tankers include Fleet Manager and Technical Superintendent, as well as a role as New Building Supervisor focused on the construction of various vessel types. Prior experience includes military service as a Naval Architect in the Hellenic Navy, a Trainee Surveyor at Overseas Maritime, and cadet engineering roles during early maritime training. Spyros holds a Master of Science in Marine Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Marine Technology with Honors in Naval Architecture from Newcastle University, in addition to a marine engineering certification from the Merchant Marine Academy of Crete.
