Corey May

Corey May is an experienced safety and emergency management professional with a strong background in fire safety and health, environmental safety, and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as Fire Chief at Marathon Petroleum Corporation's Garyville Refinery since April 2012, Corey also held the position of HES Professional within the same organization. Previously, Corey worked as the Division Safety Manager at Veolia Environmental Services, ensuring health and safety compliance for all employees and serving as a DOT regulatory compliance officer. Corey's early career includes a Graduate Safety Intern role at the FAA, where responsibilities included revising health and safety orders, training employees in CPR/AED, and developing employee medical records systems. Additionally, an Emergency Management Intern role at Boone County Emergency Management Services involved pre-planning high-risk sites and conducting community drills. Corey May holds a Master's Degree in Safety Management from West Virginia University and a Bachelor's Degree in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology from Eastern Kentucky University.
