iOS Developer at Marco Polo

Joel Drotleff has held various roles in the tech industry since 2006. Joel began as the founder of Joel's Transcription, a small audio transcription service offering audio transcription by highly educated college students from UCSD. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Brand Services Engineer for EMN8 and as a Human Factors Engineer for Sony. In 2012, they founded Breadcrumbs, Inc., a mobile app startup, which they successfully pitched to the EvoNexus startup incubator and received a $50k seed investment from Qualcomm Labs. Joel developed the iPhone Breadcrumbs app and created the Django-based server admin. Joel was also Lead iOS Developer for CourtSocial, a social media mobile app for sharing photos and quick polls, and Lead iOS Developer for 1AppWorks, where they worked on the 1App mobile app. From 2014 to 2015, they were an iOS Developer for MJD Interactive, where they worked on StrideRite's app RiteFit and Disney's app Haunted Mansion Storybox. Lastly, they were an iOS Developer for Marco Polo, where they focused on the user side of things such as creating delightful intuitive animations and beautiful interfaces for the Marco Polo app.

Joel Drotleff obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science with a field of study in Human Computer Interaction from UC San Diego in 2010. Joel also holds two certifications from Duolingo in Spanish Fluency, both obtained in December 2015.
