Wayne M. Olson

Mr. Olson has extensive experience in business and tax planning, as well as financial due diligence, forecasts and projections, especially related to real estate and facility acquisition, development, construction and operation. At MWE, he is involved with all aspects of tax planning, review and compliance on behalf of clients that include owner-operators, developers, converters and contractors. Although he advises clients in all aspects of their business, Mr. Olson’s areas of expertise include partnership, corporate and real estate taxation.

Mr. Olson, a widely recognized authority on real estate and taxation, has authored numerous articles on the subject. A frequent lecturer to industry and business professionals, his lectures include topics such as real estate taxation, taxation of partnerships/LLC’s, high net worth individuals and “S” corporations, and state and local real property transfer taxes.

Mr. Olson is the chairman of MWE’s Real Estate Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is currently vice president of the Board of Directors of Lutheran High School Association of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, president of the Board of Long Island Lutheran Day School at St. Paul’s and a volunteer for the Theodore Roosevelt Council Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.
