Fikansa Chanda

Country Director, Zambia at Marie Stopes International

Fikansa is a senior public health professional with extensive experience in leading SRHR, HIV and AIDS programmes in Zambia, Malawi and Namibia. Before taking up his position as Country Director in July 2021, Fikansa worked with MSI in Zambia for over six years in different leadership roles.

Prior to his roles with MSI, Fikansa worked in different programming and leadership roles with public health and development organisations, including the Regional Psycho-Social Support Initiative, Academic Education for Development, Catholic Church in Zambia, and Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia. Fikansa has designed and implemented large and integrated projects funded by the EU, FCDO, USAID, UN agencies and various foundations.

He is motivated by the prospect of a country where everyone can reach their full potential and contribute to national development, without fear or risk of unintended pregnancy.
