Rui Fernandes

Rui Fernandes has a diverse background in system engineering and infrastructure management. Rui started their career at Etec Systems as a System Engineer, where they deployed and managed IP networks for multiple campuses. Rui then worked as a Sr. Network Engineer at Standard & Poor's and Visfinity Inc, where they were responsible for infrastructure design and support. Following that, they joined EarthLink as a Sr. Systems Engineer, playing a key role in integrating production services and managing high-profile acquisitions. Rui also worked at Stand Sure System, Inc as a Sr. System Engineer, building and maintaining infrastructure for internet startups. At RedEnvelope, they managed the production retail site and supported users during a bankruptcy period. Rui later joined Convio as a Sr. Systems Engineer, handling legacy infrastructure and building new systems in their Austin facility. Currently, Rui is working at Marin Software as a Sr. SRE and Team Lead, leading engineering efforts in infrastructure and data center expansion.

Rui Fernandes completed their education at Washington State University from 1985 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Eisenhower High School from 1980 to 1983, but did not receive any degree or major in a specific field of study.
