Briana Gilchrist

Briana Gilchrist is currently a trustee at MARION P. THOMAS CHARTER SCHOOL and was previously a press assistant at National Alliance for Public Charter Schools from June 2017 to August 2018. Prior to that, they served as HR assistant and alumni relations at Marion P. Thomas Charter School from September 2013 to January 2014 and from June 2016 to June 2017, respectively. Briana also worked as an economic development analyst at Newark Community Economic Development Corporation from May 2013 to August 2013.

Briana Gilchrist began their career as a research assistant at Rutgers Business School from September 2012 to June 2015, where they provided research support for projects related to urban economic development and social entrepreneurship under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey A. Robinson. Some of their key responsibilities included conducting market analysis of potential businesses, interviewing businesses, drafting one-page synopses for businesses interviewed, and organizing the Urban Innovation Symposium. Through their work as a research assistant, Briana Gilchrist gained valuable skills such as independent research, research writing, market/content analysis, database creation, event planning, and project management. These skills have been instrumental in their success as a trustee at MARION P. THOMAS CHARTER SCHOOL.

Briana Gilchrist has a degree in Planning and Public Policy with a concentration in Urban Studies/Affairs from Rutgers University. Briana also has a Master of Digital Marketing from Rutgers Business School. Lastly, they have a degree in Africana Studies from Rutgers University.
