Wynand Jordaan has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Wynand is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Marionete, a position they started in December 2021. Prior to this, they served as a PCA at Marionete starting in October 2020.
Before joining Marionete, Wynand worked at MSCI Inc. from November 2018 to October 2020, holding the role of VP.
From 2011 to 2018, they were employed at Barclays Investment Bank, where they held various roles. As a Software Architect, Wynand prototyped solutions for implementing credit risk calculations using graph-based techniques. Wynand successfully led a cross-functional team through a 10-week prototype using Scrum as the agile management technique and Python as the development language. Additionally, they worked on designing and delivering a model back testing solution for Monte Carlo credit risk simulations, in compliance with Basell II and III requirements. This involved leading international teams and developing a new GUI, database, and statistical calculation engine.
Prior to working at Barclays, Wynand was a Quant Analyst/Developer at UBS Investment Bank from September 2006 to October 2011. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team and serving as the application owner for credit risk analytics. Wynand also played a key role as the technical architect for incorporating strategic front office risk calculations into the credit risk analytics systems.
Wynand's early experience includes working as a Software Developer at Pivetal from June 2005 to September 2006.
Wynand Jordaan completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution, from 1996 to 1999. Additionally, Wynand obtained a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute in 2013.
