Jim Chafe began their work experience in 1988 as a Mechanical Engineer at the David Taylor Research Center. Jim held this position until 1999, when they joined Maritime Applied Physics Corporation as the Vice President. Jim currently holds this role at the company.
Jim Chafe completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University, where they studied from 1978 to 1982. After that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1982 to 1984. Jim then continued their studies at MIT and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering, completing their education from 1984 to 1988.
