Vanessa Fernandez is a seasoned insurance professional with extensive experience in underwriting, currently serving as a Senior Underwriter at Markel since July 2025. Prior to this role, Vanessa spent nearly two decades at Chubb in various underwriting positions, specializing in Excess/Umbrella Underwriting for middle-market clients, as well as Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting for the Northeast Territory. Vanessa's career began at O’Donnell Agency, where a position as a Licensed P&C Producer was held from August 2002 to November 2006. Vanessa holds a background in insurance education from UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ, where studies took place between 2001 and 2003.
