Mahek Dawood has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Marketing Society Scholar at The Marketing Society. In this position, they were selected as one of 50 emerging scholars and participated in a year-long program focused on developing marketing and leadership capabilities.
Prior to their current role, Mahek worked at Thomson Reuters in various marketing positions. Mahek served as a Marketing Manager, Strategy for Asia and Emerging Markets (APAC & MENA), where they developed and communicated key value propositions and messaging. Mahek also worked on product launches, campaign toolkits, and developed region-wide marketing programs. In a previous role, they were a Senior Marketing Specialist for the Middle East, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa region, where they developed and delivered marketing strategies and managed high-touch marketing events.
Before their time at Thomson Reuters, Mahek served as a Marketing Specialist Volunteer at COO Network (Middle East). Additionally, they gained experience in the film industry as a Hotel Desk Representative for the Dubai International Film Festival. Mahek also worked as a Marketing Communications Intern at United Safety, where they supported marketing and sales activities and helped position the company as a thought leader.
Mahek's earlier work experiences include roles as a Marketing professional at UthMag.com, where they were responsible for advertising and branding of sponsored events, and as a Conference Hostess at SIBOS, where they provided customer service and ensured the proper functioning of technology at the conference. Mahek also worked as a Sales Representative at SanDisk, managing customer inquiries and providing customer support.
Mahek's career began with a trainee position at Pink Pepper Photography, where they received training in photography techniques and gained experience in the field.
Mahek Dawood's education history begins in 1997 when they enrolled in Dubai Scholars Private School, where they pursued GCE Edexcel - A'Levels & O'Levels in Economics and Mathematics. They completed their studies at this school in 2011. Following this, Mahek attended Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Masters of Arts Honors degree in Business and Finance.
In addition to their formal education, Mahek Dawood has acquired multiple certifications. In April 2017, they completed the "Social Selling Mastery 3.3" course offered by Sales for Life. They also obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including "Marketing Foundations" in April 2021, "SEO: Keyword Strategy" in April 2021, "Building Resilience" in May 2021, "Account-Based Marketing Foundations" in May 2021, "Programmatic Advertising Foundations" in June 2021, and "Marketing and Monetizing on YouTube" in June 2021. Most recently, in March 2022, Mahek completed the "Customer Journey Mapping Course" at ADMA (Association for Data-Driven Marketing and Advertising).
