Gopinath Akalkotkar

Gopinath Akalkotkar is a seasoned architecture professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as Principal at VLK Architects since April 2021, Gopinath leads the San Antonio office and has been instrumental in establishing its operations. Prior to this role, Gopinath was the City Architect for the City of San Antonio, overseeing all municipal building projects. Experience also includes key positions such as Director at Archwert Designers and Planners, Managing Principal at Stantec Consulting Pvt. Ltd., and Director of Master Planning at 3D/I, where Gopinath managed large-scale projects across various sectors. Academic contributions include a position as Senior Lecturer at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
