Farnell Newton

Farnell Newton is currently the Streaming & Distribution Specialist & Label Services at Marmoset, a position they have held for 1 year and 9 months. Prior to their current role, Farnell held various positions at Marmoset including Streaming & Distribution Specialist + Label Services, Label Liaison + AR&C Support, and Marketing Coordinator. In their role as Head Music Curator at Lofijazzsoul, Farnell was responsible for releasing and licensing great Lofi Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Soul music from the Pacific Northwest and Worldwide. Farnell is also the bandleader of The Othership Connection, a funk and soul band that has been stirring up a ton of noise on the NW music scene. Led by Trumpeter Farnell Newton, who currently tours with Jill Scott & Bootsy Collins, the Othership Connection brings a sound that blends the old with the new. Farnell is also the founder of Jam of the Week, a weekly online trumpet lesson.

Farnell Newton has a Master's of Music Jazz Studies from Portland State University, which they obtained in 2009. Farnell also has a Bachelors in Music with a focus in Jazz Performance from Oberlin College, which they received in 2000. In addition, Farnell Newton is a certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance.
