Dawn Drake

Dawn Drake is a singer-songwriter, bassist, percussionist, and bandleader at Dawn Drake & ZapOte. Dawn is also an education and cultural event consultant, educator, entertainer, freelance musician, adjunct professor at John Jay College, teaching artist at Marquis Studios and Brooklyn Arts Council, event producer at Luxury Event Studios, and ensemble leader at California Institute of the Arts. Dawn holds a Master of Fine Arts in composition and performance from California Institute of the Arts, a Master's degree in Ethnomusicology from CUNY Graduate Center, and a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Field Studies from University of California, Berkeley.
