Rick Uren

Rick Uren possesses extensive experience in music education and performance, serving as a Piano and Voice Instructor at Marshall Music Co since 2003 and as a Trombonist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra since 1979. Uren held various leadership roles, including Conductor of the LMM Choral Ensemble from 2005 to 2021 and Music Director at Pilgrim Congregational Church from 2014 to 2019. Other positions include Interim Chancel Choir Director at Jackson's First Presbyterian Church in 2013, Music Director at Asbury United Methodist Church from 2003 to 2013, Interim Music Director of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra in 2010-2011, and Assistant Conductor of the Battle Creek Symphony from 2004 to 2008. Uren's academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Michigan State University and both a Master and Bachelor of Music in Choral Conducting and Piano & Trombone Performance, respectively, from Western Michigan University.
