Drake Siard

Drake Siard has a strong background in the finance industry, with a focus on quantitative research and volatility analysis. Drake is currently working as the Head of Volatility Research at Marshall Wace, a position they started in 2023. Before that, they served as the Head of Quantitative Research at XY Capital from 2022 to 2023. Prior to these roles, Siard held various positions at Man AHL, including Co-Head of Volatility from 2016 to 2019, Quantitative Researcher from 2013 to 2016, and Research Technologist from 2010 to 2013. Before joining Man AHL, they worked as a Senior Developer at YouDevise from 2008 to 2010 and as a Quantitative Analyst at Stealth Mode Hedge Fund from 2007 to 2008. Siard started their career as a Quantitative Developer at IV Capital in 2006 and as an Economic Analyst at Library House in 2005. Drake holds a software engineering background, having previously worked as a Software Engineer at National Instruments from 2003 to 2004.

Drake Siard's education history begins with a BA and BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Diploma in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2004 to 2005.

Later, from 2011 to 2013, Drake attended Birkbeck, University of London, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Statistics and Stochastic Modelling. In 2019, they returned to Birkbeck, University of London to complete their second MS degree, this time in Economics, which they finished in 2020.

Drake recently embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at Imperial College London, specializing in AI in Future Energy Markets. Although their degree is listed as incomplete, they began their studies in 2020 and is expected to continue until 2021. These educational milestones collectively demonstrate Drake's commitment to academic pursuits and their diverse background in mathematics, computer science, econometrics, and economics.

In terms of additional certifications, Drake obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification from the CFA Institute in February 2018.
