Josie Mueller

Josie Mueller, MSW has a diverse work experience that highlights their expertise in social work and community outreach. Josie currently serves as the Director of Service Learning at the Martha O'Bryan Center since July 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Family Coach at the same organization from June 2021 to July 2022. Josie has also worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Center for Student Success at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from August 2020 to June 2021.

Their experience includes being a Social Work Intern at Apex High School from August 2019 to April 2020, where they managed a caseload of students with various needs and provided social-emotional support. Josie also conducted informative presentations on topics like Signs of Suicide and Human Trafficking.

Before that, Josie served as a High School Education Specialist at Stratford STEM Magnet School in East Nashville from August 2018 to July 2019. Their role involved assisting students, particularly first-generation college students, in college applications, financial aid, and overcoming barriers to higher education. Josie also ran after-school programs for teenagers.

Josie's early experience includes being an Americorps VIP Member and Community Outreach Coordinator at Restorative Partners from December 2016 to July 2018. In these roles, they played a vital role in organizing fundraising events and establishing community relationships.

Additionally, Josie served as the Head Volleyball Coach for Boys & Girls Volleyball at Los Osos Middle School from February 2016 to February 2018 and worked as a Recreation Leader at Lafayette Recreation from June 2013 to November 2015.

Josie Mueller, MSW, earned their Master's degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Event Planning and Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2013 to 2017.
