Juan Hermosillo

Juan Hermosillo, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. Juan started their career at the University of Texas as a Teaching Assistant, where they assisted students in an electricity and magnetism class. Juan then became an NSF GK-12 Fellow at the University of Texas at El Paso, mentoring middle school students in science. After that, they worked as a Mathematics teacher in the El Paso Independent School District, where they developed lesson plans and implemented modifications for various student needs.

In 2012, Juan joined Martin Resource Management Corporation as an R&D Engineer, working on the development and modification of asphalt blends. Juan later became the R&D Manager, overseeing research and development projects. Currently, they serve as the Lab Director, responsible for product development and improving manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Juan Hermosillo, Ph.D. began their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering. Juan completed their undergraduate studies in 2003. Following this, they continued their education at The University of Texas at El Paso from 2004 to 2006, obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Physics. In 2007, Juan Hermosillo started their doctoral studies at The University of Texas at El Paso, specializing in Materials Science and Engineering. Juan successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in that field in 2012.
